Food Services

Harvest of Hope Food Bank

A once monthly box is available for registered clients of the Salvation Army. Food bank days are Wednesday and Thursday from 11-12 each week at unit 5-682 Gibsons Way. (Phone 604-886-3665) Thanks to our supporters in 2011 we were able to provide 1,868 adults and children hampers of food on the Sunshine Coast.

Bread and Produce
Available Monday - Friday ( except holidays) 11:00 - 12:00 at 682 Gibsons Way. Free to all residents in need on the Sunshine Coast. Over 10,000 adults and children are served through the daily distribution of food annually. Thanks to our bread and produce volunteers and donors in 2011 we were able to help feed 11,000 adults and families on the Sunshine Coast.

Hot Lunch Program
A lunch to all residents in need on the Sunshine Coast. Available Tuesday and Friday 11:30am at unit 5-682 Gibsons Way. Thanks to our lunch and friends volunteers and donors in 2011 we were able to serve over 4000 hot meals to adults and families on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency Services

Emergency Material Assistance
Emergency vouchers are provided for registered clients of the Salvation Army for use in our local Thrift Stores for clothing, furniture & household items. Other emergencies are assessed on an individual basis. In 2011 the Salvation Army gave $3,485.00 in vouchers for clothing and household items at our Thrift Stores to those in need on the Sunshine Coast.

Community Crisis Response Unit
The Emergency Disaster Services van with volunteers are trained to provide mobile canteen service for 1st responders. In addition, in the event there ia a natural disaster TSA volunteers are trained to provide meals to the communitys from the EDS van.

Extreme Weather Emergency Shelter
In extreme weather cases, we want to see all who have no fixed address keep warm, safe, and secure. We open our shelter from 8pm to 7am when these circumstances occur until the spring of 2011.

A free referal is available for those in need on the Sunshine Coast

 

Pastoral Services

Spiritual and financial Counseling
Pastors Don and Sandra Rowsell are available to help families and individuals in need of spiritual and financial counseling during regular office hours 9-3 Monday - Friday. An appointment is strongly advised.

Christmas Services

Community Christmas Dinner
December 14th 2011, low income families are invited to attend and enjoy a lovely Christmas dinner combined with fellowship and festivities at Camp Sunrise. Thanks to everyone's great efforts we were able to serve 69 Adults and Children at our annual Community Christmas dinner.

Christmas Sponsorship
TSA facilitates businesses in the community and families of means to sponsor a family in need. Anonymity is part of the criteria of this service. Thanks to TSA, facilitating families in need with individuals, organizations, and businesses, our sponsors, were able to make 15 families Christmas a joyous day.

Festival of Lights
TSA is one of the many contributors to the success of this community event. TSA along with our EDS van and volunteers provide the community with hot chocolate and cookies.
